Hello Scouts everywhere.
I am the Scout leader of the 4th Nottingham (Air) Scouts. We send you
greetings from Nottingham England. My name is Paul, and I have been a scout
for many, many years. I have talked about Jamboree on the air to the Scout-
Troop. We decided to see how many replies we could get by packet radio. The
Scout hall location is a very bad place for radio to get out.
Here at the 4th, we have a marching band with the 10th Nottingham Guides.
We both meet for troop meetings on Wednesdays, and on Mondays for band
practice. The band plays on the big Scout parade in April called St. George's
day. Also, we play on the main Guide parade in May. We are an Air-Scout troop
because we have an interest in aircraft and flying things like model aircraft
and kites.
My son Samuel is a Beaver-Scout at the 1st Porchester Phoenix Scout
troop. (The Scout group became the Phoenix because the Scouts rebuilt
Scout-hall from the ashes when the hall burnt down.) He is nearly eight years
old. Samuel will transfer up to the Cub-Scouts soon, which will be in December
if all goes as planned.
Both Scout troops would like to hear from fellow Scouts from all over the
world. I will give them both a print out from your messages.
73s from Paul
