Some of my examples got cut because of the mail importing and FBB
closed the mail prematurely. Here's a recreation of what was cut. Possible
commandsets during import will be commented by a "-"

Mail without a bid is held as local. NOS handles mail a lot differently than
a standard PBBS. It uses an SMTP server/client (aka: smtpserv.c/smtpcli.c)
to handle it's mail which it puts in spool files called areas, so how it
handles mail such as pbbs mail w/o bids is a bit different. If it wasn't then
rewrite and area files wouldn't be necessary.

Now with the new patch in JNOS that bullet proofs this process for NOS
simply unflag your permissions as a bbs. Why?
1 - it's not necessary
2 - you can still send mail as you're used to

JNOS autosenses whether or not a SID is sent thus sensing a PBBS mail
exchange session. Example:

You have 0 messages.
Area: n1uro Current msg# 0.
?,A,B,C,CONV,D,E,F,H,I,IH,IP,J,K,L,M,N,NR,O,P,PI,Q,R,S,T,U,V,W,X,Z >
-sp n1uro < n1uro
Subject:
Test
Enter message. End with /EX or ^Z in first column (^A aborts):
This is a test.
-/ex
Msg queued
Area: n1uro Current msg# 0.
?,A,B,C,CONV,D,E,F,H,I,IH,IP,J,K,L,M,N,NR,O,P,PI,Q,R,S,T,U,V,W,X,Z >
-[JNOS-2.0.4-URO-AHM$]
>
-sp n1uro < n1uro
NO - No BID!
>

As you see above, as soon as JNOS received the SID, it went magically into
PBBS mail forward mode. Maiko could probably even take that flag out of
ftpusers. The 2 key things are the ">" prompt and input there after whether
it's a SID or a user command.

Congratulations for insulting Jerry and Jack respectively! Their JNOS at
the time, as you describe, accepted forwarded mail w/o bids and inserted
their own thus duping mail around the world. The OFFENDING PBBS was that of
N2NOV who has since appeared to have fixed his system. I never duped his mail
because I already had the patch applied for when you were sending me bulletins
without bids about a year ago. Here's what NOV was sending N9LYA and AA6HF
from my own logs (which I properly denied):

08:12:46 N2NOV-7 @ N2NOV-7 - MBOX (n2nov) incoming proposal sB wx @ usa < kf5jrv
08:12:46 N2NOV-7 @ N2NOV-7 - MBOX n2nov: Rejecting mail without BID - wx@usa

NOV BBS seems to be fixed as I haven't seen mail w/o BIDs from him since 24
Oct. Your opinion seems to be highly incorrect especially since you appear
to wish their BBS to continue to accept mail without bids and insert their
own bids thus creating dupes.
