Hi thanks for reading this.
Just setting up jnos 2 in linux and having some problem with setting my
MFJ 1270b in kiss mode, where the tnc is already in kiss mode, the program
starts and the STA led stays lit, so i turn off and back on to clear.
Any info outbound or inbound doesn't happen, and at every beacon, locks
up.
Does the tnc need to be in kiss mode at boot up, or not.
Secondly the correct info for setup, i have setup as the manual states and
help text states but no joy.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Bruce,
I haven't got as far as JNOS yet with Linux. Still sorting out axports,
nrports in /etc/ax25/ & trying to understand why kissattach can't find
axports.
I do have MFJ1270B & MFJ1270C TNCs. Some Amateurs say the standard
firmware doesn't do KISS as well as a KISS only firmware ROM.
My old C64 system had to be started in the right order:
HDD, printer, then the C64. Any other way & some thing refused to work.
Is it any different if the TNC is powered ON (in KISS) after the PC is
started?
I haven't heard that JNOS puts a standard TNC into KISS for you.
UI-View does a great job switching TNCs in & out of KISS. Winpack gets
TNCs into KISS fine, but doesn't always exit KISS on closedown. Maybe
there is a closedown script I don't have right?
The TNCs I use in KISS from G8PZT Xrouter DOS serial ports show the odd
CRC errors. But they do stay in KISS mode. There are DOS KISS ON & KISS
OFF utilities.
Don't know for Linux.
I'll be interested in what you discover.
My interest in Linux is for driving of 9k6 Parallel port Baycom modems.
Several very good programs like Xrouter & BPQ32 don't do it. Native Linux
AX25 is supposed to have the parallel port driver built in.
