THE INTERNATIONAL POLICE ASSOCIATION RADIO CLUB. Packet News No.55
Dated. Compiled by Ron GU4XGG/GP4IPA
I am now running a "US Robotics Sportster 28,800" modem. It will be on line
from approx each night 2300hrs to approx 0800hrs on 01481-46520 .If anyone
has any material or messages that they do not want to send by pkt please
feel free to Fax.it.I of course can transfer the system at any time from
Pkt.to phone modem on request.
It looks as though I will be in Hong Kong from 6th.March until 10th.April
last time I said I would be on Pkt.but with the co-operation I did not
receive from "Hams" out there I will not promise anything this time.
On Sunday 14th.Jan at 1600hrs we had Bill PFE Brian FRG Doug OEF and John
JVP up on net 80mtrs.We would have had Mike PGA but he did not find us.
Please remember that the lower bands are very crowded at this point of the
Sun Spot Cycle and plus or Minus can mean quite a shift of frequency.
A very good net at 1900hrs.PGA TRE LPY JXP GSP PFE OZ3ANT EA5/G0BYL ON4IPA
OZ5IPA. We will still try a net at 1600hrs for those who find the
propagation difficult at 1900hrs for a few more weeks or until there is
lack of support.
There is no VHF/UHF News because I never get any from the membership as
simple as that.
As I said in a previous Pkt.News there will be no more Patches/Cloth
Badges of the current design when the present stock is exhausted as the US
Section have changed their design, and I would say that the new design
would not lend itself to addaption like the old one did,US to GB.So if you
are a Patch collector or know one now is the time to buy.Details from BOB
G3UTX QTHR.
You should all have had your News Letter from Brian G4TRE by this time,
and as it has the Mins. of last years AGM prehaps some comments from the
membership would be usefull for the Committee !!!
I will not repeat any News from the News Letter as you should all have
read yours by now.
Winpack going very well at this station, all the problems, and there were
very few, were of my own making.
Slow progress is being made from GU to La Belle France but I am led to
believe that the French are a little thin on the ground over there, and it
could work out in the end, that messages from North West to North East
France are passed via. GU and G !!!
Thanks once again to all the Sysops in the chain, both BBSs and Nodes
without you I would never be able to keep in contact.
LOOK AFTER YOURSELF IT CAN BE DANGEROUS OUT THERE ON THE STREETS
