Hi James.
For four years, I could trigger the PIR alarm of someone 200 yds away,
every 55 mins. That was what I had my packet set up to TX at. This was
when there were a lot more people on packet.
As I understand it, it is the responsibility of the manufacturer to ensure
that equipment is immune to RF. A friend of mine with a factory, spent
thousands of pounds in 1984 - 5 to make his equipment immune.
We were taught when I was licenced, that you never, ever use the word
'interference'. Use 'breakthrough' instead. offering to help with the cost
of improving the man's equipment is a very kind, friendly thing to do but
people aren't always like that. He could easily take your offer as an
excuse to try to close you down.
It has never happened to me, even on CB. The gods must have been smiling
on my equipment. What I did do was build filters which I gave away to help
other people with their problems. I have seen how nasty people can become.
Beware!
