Hello All.
I would like to welcome any Amateur Maritime Mobile station how is coming
to the Northern Territory.
I would like to inform you of some helpful information that could be of
assistance to.
There is a Echolink Gateway Node: 7593 VK8PDG-L which is the first Echolink
gateway in the Northern Territory to be on line as a internet voice repeater
station to which you can use this system as its free for all Amateurs to use.
If you need any help on the use of this Echolink " VOIP " system please let me
know and I will do my best to assist you.
To use the system nothing could be easier if you have a DTMF mic or HT press the
( * ASTERISK key) and a short information file will be played to you this message
will be played back to you over the air letting you know how to use the this link
system which you will find this link on the RF Freq of 146.150 Mhz which ID's
every 10 mints with a VOICE ID'er as - " VK8PDG-Link " or a CW ID'er as VK8PDG.
Perhaps listen on the above Freq even out at sea so as to make good use of this
link which is also on The Australian National APRS Beacon Freq: 145.175 Mhz as
well as being posted on Winlinks.org web site.
Here are some of the commands to use on Echolink form your DTMF Mic or HT to
make a connection.
1) To Make a connection to a station put in it DTMF Node Number Like 7593
2) To make a Random Connection :
3) Random Node 00
4) Random Link 01
5) Random Conf 02
6) Random User 03
7) To Disconnect at any time Press the ( # POUND/HASH Key ).
8) To Reconnect to the last station 09
9) To hear the link Status ........ 08
10) To play the Station Info file press the ( * ASTERISK key ).
Enjoy your stay in the Northern Territory Supporting NEXUS, AIRMAL, TELPAC,
WINLINK 2.9, NTS. WinFBB32 MULTI-language server TelNet/Packet/PacTor MBO/BBS.
For persons just using any of these world wide RF links or repaters system from RF
then the above help file will apply.
How ever if you would like to install the program your self and us it from your own
PC into any of these world wide links this is easy to do and setup.
Or if you would like to setup a RF link on a simplex freq or go all the way and setup
a full blown Echolink repeater then just use the same program but turn on the Sysop
setting and have a 2 meter or 70 cm RF link up and going in just about 30 mins.
