Andy G0FTD made some rather inacurate statements.....
}
} This may be of use to some of you who have old Paccomm Tiny 2 Mk1's.
}
} In case your not already aware, the Mk1 has a bug in KISS mode, the DCD
} does'nt work and you end up transmitting frames when your supposed to be
} in receive mode. The MK2 does'nt have this problem.
}
Excuse me Andy, but I use a Mk1 Tiny2 in KISS mode with no problems what
so ever with BPQ.
} With an old MK1 I have here (soon to be dumped in favour of a soundcard
} system) I found that running G8BPQ software failed because of the above
} fault, as well as some of the TFxxx series of drivers. Same with NOS
} (or variants).
}
Well throw them this way, I'll take them off your hands if you are giving
them away.
This "problem" has been discussed many times over the years. The "problem"
is *NOT* in the hardware but in the software.
The "problem" is within one version of the plug-in EPROM
PMS-3.0 E1.1.6D4 $56
Replace that EPROM with a later version ( mine is a SISKIN one ) and that
KISS "problem" is rectified.
The other thing that changes is a number of defaults such as word length.
The old one was 7 , the newer one is 8 . Also new commands are also added.
All you will need is someone with an EPROM writer ( I don't have one ),
and you can get your present EPROM erased and re-written with the later
software.
