Could be a moral to that if you look hard enough I guess.
Peter's because I simply am not sure whether what he proposes is legal or
not so I keep a weather eye out and play it safe while it's thrashed out.
Hell, he can post the same message as often as he pleases. I tire of it
myself sometimes sure but it's a free world, just don't read em if it
bothers you.
Yours because although I more often than not agree with your position on
issues you just seem to get so excited with everything that you sometimes
(in my view) drift away from the issue in favour of toasting the message
poster in question.
By all means, disagree all you want and SAY so but a touch less of the
acerbic tone would be so much nicer. It IS possible that the original
poster of the message did so in all the good faith and best intention in
the world. In that case shouldn't they be treated a little more gently in
some cases? I'm not suggesting you sit still for outright abuse or
stupidity of course.
Your bulletins often read very much like those I was posting some four
years ago in tone. I admit it, after a number of years SysOping and
serving to the best of my (very) limited ability with the W.I.A.Q. (The
state division of the Australian Amateur Radio representative body) I was
stale and cranky. So I simply let my licence lapse and took four years off
only renewing 2 weeks ago. Perhaps a break might do your perspective some
good? Not suggesting that you make it a 4 year break of course. After all,
you're not half as cranky a S.O.B. as I was in 99.....still ;0)
So now we see I guess if you can graciously take on board an opinion like
the (many many) ones that you offer up to others on their deportment on
Amateur Radio or whether we're going to be treated to another "Re:VK4PKT>
(enter acerbic title here)" bulletin in return.
