Hello Andrew,
I hope you will explain something about the film to NTSC video transfer 
process. You are in conflict with my way of thinking and am getting 
confused.
You say it uses a 3:2 pull down which puts one frame of film on 3 fields 
of NTSC video. Since the system uses 2 interlaced fields per frame 
(interlaced scanning) this puts two film frames in one video frame, every 
other frame. The result would be one film frame being scanned by the even 
lines (first field) and the NEXT film frame being scanned by the odd 
lines (second field) in a single video frame. Somehow that makes no sense 
to me.
Whatever way they do it however, they almost completely eliminate that 
annouing flicker in the cinema and my eyes defocusing every time the 
camera pans, hi.
