Hi,
I recall using a "Coleman" lamp years, ago. It was as said pressurised
fuel feed, as was the "Tilley" Visually they were different, although they
worked on the same principle. The Tilley lamps that I saw had the burner
head on the tpo of a stem 150 -200 mm high, and these were quite unstable
, as it tended to make them a bit top heavy. The Coleman had the birner
section only aboyt 50 75 mm above the tank, with 1 feed tube & 2 support
tubes. The fuel that we burned in these was known as 'white spirit' It
was also the same fluid that was sold in small bottles for cigarette
lighter. (wick type) Brand names were "Ronsonol" (for Ronson cigarette
lighters) and "Shellite" (no prizes for the naming of the company).
The priming (preheating the mantle) was meths; the priming can having
a curious but distinctive "S" shaped spout. Tilleys I'm not sure of. (I
suspect that the top was removed to prime them)
They did give out a great light, with little fumes. Nothing like the
"Hurricane" lamps; kerosene fuelled, wick type, & notorious for the soot
produced if not trimmed correctly.
I also remember an old camping stove; it was known as a Primus, (from
the mid 50's) but I'm not certain of the actual bramd. This had 2 can
tanks on the rear of the backboard, gravity feeding the adjustable
burners. These burners (circular) had flow control needle valves and small
shallow pans below, which werefilled with meths as preheating for the
burners.
Gas has supplanted many of these relics now, although Coleman lamps are
still being sold in camping supply stores to my knowledge, (seen within
the last 6 months).

  Cheers/73,
