Bob VK6BE touches on a sore point here. There was a good radio link to Western
Australia via VK6TN but although we in the eastern states sent traffic to
VK6TN the sysops in Perth ignored him as far as sending outgoing traffic via
VK6TN. They prefered to use the internet and eventually Ernie VK6TN gave up
and sold his PTCII to VK5ATB who is trying to find another home for it in
Australia. The internet sysops in the eastern states didn't help either by
using the internet to forward to WA despite the existance of a viable RF Path.

 This is a clear example of the damage that internet forwarders do to amateur
radio. Perhaps we should retaliate in some way. When you put it all together
with IRLP, ILink etc (which some idiot was promoting as an emergency facility)
how long will it be before the authorities say;

 "Look, you don't really need those HF bands, you can do all you want by using
the internet". Hmmmm
