Hi,

I've still got a few in my junk box but never use them of course. (round
pins and nothing to fit them to)

I think they've been knocking around since the late 1940's. We had a
socket on the upstairs landing of our 1930's semi-detach that fitted the
5amp(?) Clix plug. If memory serves me right the Hotpoint Junior Upright
Vacuum cleaner was used in this socket.

I remember blowing the house fuses a few times with that socket whilst
messing around with a wireless at around 11yrs of age. I always managed to
repair the fuses before Mum or Dad got home from work.

And incidentally my Mum always did the ironing from a light fitting using
a Y connector. I was also aware of a slight tingling sensation from the
metal parts of the iron. Maybe the linoleum flooring protected us to some
extent.

Those old house wiring days were a death trap in hindsight.
