I'm a bit sad to learn from VK5QX that, if I ever visit OC, I won't be able
to witness the coriolis effect and watch water flushing anti clockwise.
As for the 'hole in the ground'. When I first saw them in France about
thirty years ago, I thought they were old fashioned and would be replaced
by WCs in due course.
I was wrong.
They are even fitting new ones. When I broached the topic with a friendly
barman who had just installed a new one, he explined that, if there is
nothing to sit on,you can't catch diseases.
Very true, I suppose but not much fun for your arthritic old grandma.
