Hello all,
The TFT or LCD type of display has that nasty color shift so is useless
where color accuracy is concerned, such as in photographic work. The
persistance is longer than a CRT because the crystals take a bit of time
to depolarize This makes them a bit of a pain in the eye when viewing
rapidly moving images, such as video.. On the plus side is compactness,
so one could easily be wall mounted etc.
With a CRT, the scan rate depends on resolution, software selectable. One
drawback on a small screen is the resolution vs image size. The higher
the res, the smaller each pixel becomes, so things like icons tend to get
harder to see. That must be corrected by changing the size and spacing of
the icons. Compromise, always compromise.
As for my opinion, being space here is severely limited, I would prefer
the LCD display, but only for that reason. I'll stick with my CRT because
I do a lot of photographic and video work.
As for packet, a Z80 and 16dpi line printer will do... (;->)
