Greetings, out there.
=====================
G4WY, Mel, did ask, witch monitor he should choose, eighter a CRT or a TFT
model. I here try to give a clue, witch maybe could ease the choice.
Both monitors has their strengths and weakness. The reason to select one of
them, can't be based on the fact, one is better than the other. It depends
on two major factors: Daily use and price.
The price is the most easy question: Can you afford the high price?, and
are you prepared to pay that much for a TFT?
More difficult is how you use your computer. It may be divided in to two
things to consider.
a) Hardware position and working area.
b) Witch software do you use.
It is importent to install the hardware, in such way you can work the
computer for hours, without find yourself and the computer installed, in
cramped conditions. This is importent, to choose the monitor, witch allow
free space between your eyes and the front of the monitor. Also here, you
may think twice, to buy the correct size for your work.
It's also a question about witch software you're going to use. Commonly you
should look at two groups of applications: Grahpical and text. Please
remember, textapplications also today, is widely present as WYSIWYG, most
officeapplications also may be considered as grahpical.
The quality of the most recent models in TFT is much better, as you saw
them for just two or three years ago. Why it did matter, witch kind of
software you use, its today more the physical envioment (taking up space)
and price witch matter.
Also remember, a TFT-monitor use much less power as a CRT-monitor, so if
you're fanatic about electric savings, there's no daubt, hi.
At last, I would think it over once more, because if you use grapical
envioments, such as Windows and photoapplications, you get a very large,
and good quality, CRT-monitor, for what you may pay for a smaller
TFT-monitor. That's why it's so difficult to say, witch is better, and if
one or the other is worth the price. -It depends on your needs and personal
taste.
Happy choice :-)
