Hi Bob and all ROTFLOL,
Aren't you a bit confused? I wouldn't want to plug my mike or key into a 
globe unless I was some sort of lid thinking I could work DX that way...
Here the lamp in a permanently mounted lighting FIXTURE is surrounded by 
a glass GLOBE. Still, the common term, even used by electricians for an 
incandescent lamp with that peculiar shape is a light bulb.
OH! I just went back and re read your comment and noticed you said 
"american woods" where they seemingly don't get a capital A.
OK, NOW I understand, you meant the South Jersey "Pineys", Appalachian 
"Hillbillies" and other assorted backward country folk.
"...So, what is the speed of dark?" Guess you'll have to ask THEM.
