Hello Harry etc,
While there are various "correct" terms, we don't nit pick over things
and confuse ourselves. Electricians and users alike commonly refer to the
wall OUTLET and appliance PLUG. A light bulb screws into the light
SOCKET. Mostly we left the lamp to Aladin.
In electronics however, if you don't use the correct term, you'll end up
plugging your mike in the speaker hole.
BTW, is a socket a baby sock? OK, the Bootees is a consellation, my kid
has been lost in space for years. "Ground control to Major Tom."
