Hi Brian,

The problem with using the word luminaire is that this is commonly used
to describe a manufactured lighting fitting. A lamp can be plugged into
a luminaire, or it could be plugged into a simple lighting socket on the
end of a flex hanging from the ceiling. The latter could not be
described as a luminaire.
