Hi All

Am I correct in thinking that amateur radio is a technical hobby?

If so can I suggest that we use the correct technical term for
electrical/electronic products?

I would hate to see folk plug a tulip or daffodil bulb into a light
socket!

Technically the unit that illuminates is a lamp and the unit you plug it
into is a luminaire - or if you are from the world of the theatre then it
is a lantern.

End of gripe.

PS I've had Philips SL lamps in my bathroom for 20 years and am only just
replacing them, and then only to improve the light quality with more
modern compact fluorescent lamps.
