Hi,
I have had a few compact fluorescent bulbs in my home now for about six
years. During that time only one of them has ever failed and that was due
to a rather tall person knocking into it and breaking it with his head.
I think the cost of getting them has long ago been recovered in the saving
on power and replacing incandescent bulbs.
