I went on the Nascom2 Route. Home built Z80 processor from a kit of bits
and circuit board.

Does anyone remember Nev G4CPY. He chastised me for putting 2K of RAM in
my machine and then writing an aplication that was slightly over 1K.

Tidy it up he said, cut it down, there is no aplication in this world that
won't fit into 1K of memory.

Ah sweet memories.

I wrote a prog. in machine code for RTTY send and receive and another for
CW send and receive. Also repeater control for GB3NH.

There were more hours in the day then, Hmm.

I had great fun on RTTY, if I wanted hard copy I sent down coax to a Creed
7B in my garage until I graduated to a needle dot matrix printer.

I wanted to write a Slow Scan aplication but computers were too slow then,
I tinkered with writing a Helschriber prog. but didnt get there either.

Problems...

Board populated with all components chips in sockets, power supply built
keyboard connected ready to switch on.

Now why is the writing on one chip upside down ? The notch indicating pin
1 is right, so switch on. Puff of smoke and the Grand Canyon opened along
the length of that chip.

That is the only time a I have seen a chip that was encapsulated wrongly.

The 'Nassy' is still in the loft, if there were more hours in the day....
