Well I guess that is it we all love the 8 bit micro's I to think that to
cram as much as they did in the lack of memory they had the programmers
did well .Where as now a day you can't fit it in then just add more
memory and cache to harddrive / cdrom of which these never had only tape
and disk. The other thing is if like me you are challanged by current game
play then these computers are right up our street as the plot in MOST
cases is simple enough to enjoy ones good self and addictive enough for
us to miss meal time and the dreaded TV I have even been known to miss a
radio net I was supposed to be running all because I got caught up with
one of the many machines I own.All said and done this point and click
enviroment we are in leaves a lot to be desired by types that grew up
with these older oops lets not offend them ,more mature machines as so
much can be going on that you don't even know about and all hidden under
the square window (play school) .Emulators are fine but its not like the
real thing especially the frustration of waiting 3 minutes for stuff to
load only to see the command "R TAP LOADING ERROR" and can any sad anorak
like me tell me which computer displayed that line all to often.OOPS
should have been "R TAPE LOADING ERROR" there thats better.Did any of you
out there use these computers for ham radio use and if so tell us about
your endevours and problems and how you fixed or didn't fix them as the
case might be.
With that I wish all a Happy Easter with an invalid command at line 16.
