I've seen a suggestions to use the W98 startup flop, but W98
simply does not support NTFS. Only WinNT 4.0, W2000 Pro and
WinXP do support NTFS. So, except for the DR-DOS 7.03 I
suggested in an earlier bulletin to loose an NTFS partition,
you could use a W2000 Pro installation CD, but then you have
yo make sure you run "FDISK" from within the W2000 installation
process. Well, there will probably not be a W2000 installation
CD at hand, wit XP it simply will not work (In Redmond they
decided that this would not really be what you want, so they
simply go any other way than you want to....).
And DR-DOS 7.03, I expect, can simply be downloaded from the
Internet for free. DR-DOS 7.04 is a payed package again.
Most times I simply use FDISK from DR-DOS 7.03 if I want to
loose a (boot) partition, only when installing W2000 I use
the internel "FDISK" to create or remove partitions.
FDISK from DR-DOS 7.03, in eXpert mode, will let you loose
ANY partition on a disk, whatever format it is.
