I agree with Warren, KB2VXA's general reply to John G8MNY.
I too, haven't a clue what SUSY radio is ?

I started out with the intention of being a Cl;ass 'B' only and taking up
ATV. Kits could be bought back then, either in parts or ready assembled,
probably by John. Luckily (for me) the three people who were on ATV in my
area disappeared. That meant I didn't need to lash out the money.

I liked the description of John's house, truly deserving of the term
"Aerial Farm" with another in the loft.

As for building things, I had had enough of that with designing and
building CB radio, the type with SSB and AM as well as the illegal FM
frequencies. It is a very satisfying thing. With aerials I used Lambda= c
over f -5% which worked very well. Sadly, my defective eyesight wouldn't
help me do that anymore, never mind the aerial ban in my area which is
mainly due to the excellent reception. Literally TV on a bent nail.

The only AEs allowed are satellite dishes which MUST be below the eavesa
and as I have no loft I can't even hide any kind of AE up there so all I
have left is packet by telnet. I like this nice quiet area so I have no
intention of moving.

I am a bit like Warren in that I can't understand people using expensive
mobile 'phones and chat sites. One thing you can sya, both about CB and AR
is that people can break in and you can get a good chat going- Ah well.

I have done my own CV going back about 60 yrs when Radio, TV and computer
repair were my job (C&G 41 for those that understand it.) so I'm not going
to repeat any of that.

To paraphrase John, "Why don't you write a bull, any kind of bull" just
show signs of life ?
