Hello and thank you for reading this bulletin.
I have a combi boiler supplying heating and hot water.
The heating seems to be ok and I have hot water however a few
seconds after turning the hot tap off there is an almighty
episode of crashing and banging lasting 6 - 7 seconds.
The crashing and banging occurs with all the hot taps in the
house. Ive noticed also several times that the boiler is dumping
water through an exhaust valve so I have to re-pressure the
system to about 1.5 bar.
I have some kind of idea that water is overheating and so
exhausting through the exhaust valve however don't know really as
am not a heating engineer, and as for what is causing the banging
I am clueless.
Noisy boilers in the past have always been due to air in the
radiators so this time I am well out of my depth. The boiler has
recently had 300 pounds spent rectifying a new pump and circuit
board. At 55 pounds a call out I would like an idea of what to
expect the engineer to say is the problem so please does anyone
out there have any idea as to what my problem/problems could be?
I'm starting to feel as though I'd have been better off
purchasing a new boiler....hi.
Thanks in advance of any help !
What follows is just a Tagline....
No, no, nurse! I said SLIP off his SPECTACLES!!
Best wishes from Gary.
