I am not sure either. I used to own a Psion 3C which is very suitable for
dumb terminal use. However there are some downsides;

- Display is not fully 80 chars compatibel, therefor you need to decrease
font size which makes reading the display difficult,

- Its only power source is on batteries (two 'button' cells) and they run
down fast with constant serial use,

- You need a (PSION) special serial I/F cable to use the serial port.

Have you tried creating a bootable Solid drive, like a 8 GB USB stick and
boot off it?
There would be no need to use your internal Hard Disk then.
