No it was just Terry being daft saying he couldn't find out how to change
the ts570 battery even after searching the internet. (There's a bazillion
articles on how to do it on line!.)

Have you tried seeing if the DC supplies hold up when the radio is keyed
but with no drive to the driver. You don't yet know if the PSU fails under
load or the PA fails under load. Try and see if the PSU holds up under no
load. Then try under gentle loads. How about keying the tx with no RF drive
and load the PSU with some big resistors. You'd be able to see if the PSU
gives or if it's the PA that way.

I cant offer any more advice other than an old(ish) set using valves would
make me check electrolytics and carbon comp resistors 1st.
