Hi,
Thanks for reading this request for help.
I help run a DX-Cluster and as most know they rely on the Internet rather
than Radio for the network.
The problem is that the IP address keeps changing, not once or twice a
month but many times an hour.
The cluster (GB7NHR) uses a B.T. Telephone line for it's Broadband Internet.
It is on a remote site.
When ( not IF ) the IP address changes, the Router correctly informs dynDNS
and it asigns the new IP Address to gb7nhr.shacknet.nu (It uses Port 7300.)
This change takes a while to work it's way through all the caches etc and
by the time everyone has the new address, the IP Address has changed again.
This problem is causing DX-Cluster-Nodes as well as Users to get disconected
but more importantly they are losing DX-Spots.
Has anyone any solutions to the problem ?
73, Pete G6KUI
