A few years ag when I went to an eye specialist to have my glasses changed
I asked whether I should continue to have the glasses which darken in the
sunlight - polychromatic I think they are called. I found some problems
with these when I went into the house after being in the sun. They took
long enough to lighten up again to pose a problem for a few minutes till
they adjusted. The specialist told me not to worry as the plain glasses he
was prescribing had UV filter built in anyway even though they were not
dark. I don;t seem to be having any problem with the sun here in the south
where the light is not as bright and I only use the glasses when driving
long distance.
