Thanks for replies on this and yes I was aware of simular prob with XP.
It Now transpires that 3 more people have aproached me with simular prob ?
MP3 Players and Digital camara, Vista not installing the software provided ?
Yes they may have been tempted by the low price of these items but it never
even crossed their mind to ask if the software was compatable with VISTA ?
Nothing wrong with the purchased item so how stand guarantee.
Looks to me as if we must ALL be rather carefull ? wonder what else the
supper new software will NOT let you do unless you get permission from
Mother ?
I thought that MS had been taken to Court in the USA for this kind of thing ?
Ah well back to my old W98 and XP-pro then or maybe try Linux for a change ?
