169.254.xx.xx is a blackhole. It is not a real IP address. It is used when
an attempt to gain an IP address via DHCP has failed. 

Basically, your machine is not connected to the network. You could try
allocating static IP address to all the machines and trying again. I
suggest you start with numbers in the 10.0.0.x/255.255.255.0 range as they
are quicker to type than 192.168.0.x
