I would make sure the movable location pointer for your DBX files,
actually points to the files. It is entirely possible you have orphaned
them by changing the default location setting in the options menu.
I have intentionally repositioned my DBX file location to another disk
drive. When I manage to destroy windows, the DBX files are safe on the
other hard drive. All I have to do is set-up Windows again and point the
location pointer to the files and away I go again.
