Hi Per and readers,
That's cute, suggesting a sysop reject all 7+ files not sent as personal
mail. Are you one of those bent on killing 7+ or can you perhaps instruct
people on the proper way of sending data files as general bulls?
BTW, a sysop should know his software be it FBB or otherwise. As sysop of
this BBS I'm not about monkeying around with the forward.sys file
depriving users and those in the LAN of sending and receiving what they
want.
There is little enough 7+ as it is thanks to sysops who can't or won't
forward it, if the trend continues there won't be any at all. What's
wrong with you guys anyway? Don't you know that 7+ is 7 bit ASCII and can
be handled with the same considerations as a text file? If someone is
flooding a local network with it, just tell him to give it the same
consideration, likely he doesn't send more than a few text bulls at a
time.
That's the key to it all, break the file into managable parts no bigger
than the average text file and send only a few per forwarding cycle. The
recipients will just have to have patience untill all the parts are in
and compiled.
