no monthly fee, as the units only communicate with each other. If you have
two you can connect one to your internet PC and use it as a gateway so you
can run email and ICQ from another portable unit.

I'm doing it right now - call the FCC. If you keep bothering them with
non-issues, they'll probably pull YOUR ticket for being such a pest.
As long as you aren't conducting business over the Amateur frequencies,
and are using the channel for personal communications - it is legal.
Quit spreading false rumors - you aren't "God" anymore.

I checked out their site thoroughly. The problem is the range(or lack
of it). I've thought about getting a couple for my kids, and so I can
get ideas - but the range looks so sickly that it reminds me of those
old pre-FRS 49Mhz "walkie-talkies" that you couldn't talk to with
anyone 100 yards away outside, or in the next room! This kind of thing
could make it harder to sell more capable wireless PDAs in the future,
if people get the idea that the technology is bunk. This was an
initial problem with FRS(and still may be a problem to this day), as
people were hesitant to get "ripped off" with cheap walkie-
talkies "once again". To be honest with you - FRS range STILL sucks -
but 1 mile is much better than 100yards.

You talked about development - at the site it just says "coming soon".
This just amounts to marketing hype at this point. I've been working
on Palm PDA apps, got sick-and-tired of the GCC runaround, and now I'm
running CodeWarrior. At least this is a "real" development
environment, and not vaporware.

No.

You need venture capital. To get that, you need a physical
business plan. The vc guys will take you public when they
are sure they will make a killing, and not one minute before.

Until then, you will have ample capital to both hire engineers
and ramp-up a production base. This means a post-prototype
device void of any patent infringement. They will usually
hire a patent lawyer to check the fees, and finish out the
business plan.

You need to find an economically depressed area to build
the factory, as the city will be eligible for federal funds,
and you will get zero property taxes for about 8 years.

Another good idea is to hire a full-blooded Indian woman
to be the President, or at least an Hispanic woman, and
this will be the only way to get a small-business loan.
Indian women, make excellent executives and will be
one of your best investments for the company.

Jimmy

P.S. You will normally have less than 51% ownership by
the time you have all the capital you need.
