Subject: help! PK-232MBX - I lost the cable!

I have a PK-232MBX. In moving the station from one place to another, I
lost the cable (or don't know which one is which, in any event).

The documentation with it advises NOT to use a standard RS-232 cable,
but use the one that is supplied with the PK-232MBX.

Now, I know AEA is out of business.

Is there a place I can pick up the special cable that came with the
PK-232MBX?

Or is it possible to use a "standard cable" but cut some of the pins?

Thanks for your help in advance
Greg

Hello Greg,

If you are using a 25 to 25 cable, opnly 1 thru 8 and 20 should be connected.
If you are using a 25 to 9 cable, here are the connections:

RS232 9-Pin DIN

8....................1
3....................2
2....................3
20...................4
7....................5
6....................6
4....................7
5....................8
1.................... No connection

http://www.timewave.com has complete details on repairs and upgrades, as well
as softwrae for the PK-232.

Subject: Help with Baycom BP-1 and HTX202

Anyone have BP-1 to HTX202 tips? I have tried to connect my Baypac BP-1 to my
HTX202 and Yaesu 530 but several attempts have failed to get it to transmit (
the screen says it is transmitting, radio is not) I had no trouble getting it
to transmit on the HTX212. I am using the pin out that Baypac suggests in its
"hints" folder included in its software. ( Yellow to mic center pin, red
not
attached ) Speaker pinout is Green is center, balck is side.

Any one know what else might work???

Sean
