Subject: What software to choose

Just got myself a laptop for the shack, P75 with Windows95. Rather than
trawl endlessly through the various packages on offer I wonder if any one
has advice or recommendations as to which software I should load up. I'd
like to try SSTV, RTTY, PSK31 for a start, either via an adapter (which I
have) or, preferably straight into the Mic in socket on the laptop. Also, a
grey-line, great circle and sat tracking prog would be nice.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

You might consider trying MMTTY for RTTY .... it's free so you can go wrong
with the price. Works with win95/98 and a sound card..

Try winmix32 for digital modes.Find it here;

http://users.nais.com/~jaffejim/mixwpage.htm
-------------------------------------------------------------
The PSK31 Homepage,with links for software-and suggested frequencies,
is here;

http://aintel.bi.ehu.es/psk31.html
--------------------------------------------------------------
The Digipan page,one of the very best programs for PSK,with an excellent HELP
file,is here;

http://members.home.net/hteller/digipan/

If you get into PSK,there are two email reflectors;

psk31@listbot.com
         and
psk31@bipt106.bi.ehu.es

Hope this helps.
