Make sure it is the pc and not the monitor. My experience says that the
problem
is in the monitor. Turn it off and see what happens.

I think it's 14.070 and it's the 3rd PSK31 signal from the left on the
waterfall

I suspect the answer is no. But is there a program with DigiPan like
features for Linux? DigiPan offers tuning with software. I would like to
some with X Windows capabilities that can run under Gnome or KDE destkops.

generic parts from a local comptuer store. When ever I turn the desktop PC
on, my receiver on 20 meters get several S units of noise covering all but
the strongest signals. When I disconnect the antenna the noise disappears

My gut feeling is that the PC is not worth the trouble of trying to clean

There are several GUI (gtk, motif, etc.) front-ends for psk31lx (which
is text-based). See http://radio.linux.org.au and search on "digital".

Hello all, This is my first attempt at posting a message on the Newsgroup.
There is not a great deal of activity here in ZL land on digital modes. I am
currently working my younger Brother ZL3GE who is in Timaru in the South
Island while I am in Auckland in the North Island. We are going great guns
on PSK31 on 40 meters around 1600 hours our time 0400Z. and there are no
other signals monitored on this band.
I have worked some U.S. stations but propagation from here seems to favour
the european stations.
Cheers all 73.............Gerry ZL1AWW
