Subject: Alinco DR-135T
I just received my Alinco DR-135T yesterday. Just a short note, based on
preliminary
tests - the radio seems to run quite well at 9600 bps with the integral TNC.
What a
change from the "9600 bps ready" radios that have such awful bit error
rates! I'm
going to try it in KISS mode next...

Subject: Commodore 64 Source?
My old C=64 finally died. It's been through a few power supplies over the
years, and now I think the whole thing is just plain tired.
Trying to stay away from eBay, I'm looking for a reputable source for C64s and
power supplies that deals mainly in like-new or reconditioned units.
I wold rather keep with the 64 since it runs my PK232 and a satellite tracking
program and I really don't feel like changing all the parameters of a new
(different) computer.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

I got DigiPan 1.2 to work with a Windows 98 laptop. However I have had
trouble making it work with Windows NT 4.0. Will DigiPan work with NT?

Subject: English Web Site for MMTTY
Hi guys...
I've been busy playing today and have set up an English Web Site for MMTTY.
http://www.geocities.com/mmtty_rtty/
(if your typing this out, there is a _ [underscore] between mmtty and rtty)
I'm sure that there are things that can be changes in time and I'm open to
your input. I will do my best to keep it current subject to available time.
I hope this effort meets with the MMTTY group's approval.. Especially Mako,
I hope this is OK with you.
Don't know what MMTTY is? It is a great RTTY (free) program that works with
windows 95/98 and a sound card. The program is written by JE3HHT and up to
a few days ago there was no help information in English. Guys in the new
MMTTY group have been busy putting together English information on using the
program. This is a great example of how we can work together!
Thanks to Andy, Mako and the group for assisting in the MMTTY project.

Make sure it is the pc and not the monitor. My experience says that the
problem
is in the monitor. Turn it off and see what happens.

I am trying to get a PSK31 setup going at home. I am able to get reasonable
copy with a Sony Vaio laptop, but it belongs to my company and they want it
back. My desktop machine is definitely not FCC type accepted. It uses a
SuperMicro main board with a PIII 550 MHz CPU. I assembled it myself with
generic parts from a local comptuer store. When ever I turn the desktop PC
on, my receiver on 20 meters get several S units of noise covering all but
the strongest signals. When I disconnect the antenna the noise disappears
completely. The rig is around the room from the computer, about 6 to 8 feet
or so. The antenna is located on the my apartment balcony at least 15 to 20
feet away.
My gut feeling is that the PC is not worth the trouble of trying to clean
up. Perhaps I should try other PCs or find an older Pentium type laptop.
Would buying a name brand PC with some sort of FCC type acceptance help.
