I hope this won't really be looked at as SPAM. I just want to let you
microwavers out there know about the box of misc. microwave parts and
units I have up for sale on eBay.
I have 2 working 10GHz units and many parts for sale in a sort of
parts box.
If you are interested, stop by. I want to move these things out of
the shack as there seems to be little interest in uWaves here in
Central Ohio.
Thanks,

Is anyone or any group currently working on a fully functional TNC
made with PIC's? It seems these are very popular chips now.. and quite
versatile. I would love to build my own TNC... in my own case... using
these new chips. I am looking to do this for APRS and would love to
build one with multiple rs-232 inputs for GPS, RDF and such...
Unfortunately I am not up to speed on PIC's ... yet... and would hate
to re-invent the wheel.. if someone else is doing this already.

Yes, look at http://www.infracom-fr.com/9600g.html and look after the
TNC2MULTI : Pic processor, TF 2.7 Eprom, 1k2 & 9k6 in-the-box, etc.
It doesn't not include an APRS software, but considering you can
change the Eprom by a TAPR 1.1.9 one, it should not be a problem.

How do they manage to run al this Z-80 software on a PIC?
Probably it has a PIC *in addition to* all the standard TNC hardware?
For APRS, where you don't need the AX.25 protocol, it is probably possible
to construct something with only a PIC, that translates "ascii lines" to UI
frames. That is only slightly more complicated than KISS.
