Subject: KAM CONTROLLER SOFTWARE

Most of the stuff you'll see on Packet is DXCluster and APRS.. The good news
for you is that Pacterm '98's demo mode lets you run mutlistream packet,
with no charge for it.

To see what firmware you have, do a VER at the cmd: prompt. The last digits
are the firmware revision.

The standard of wiring an RS-232C interface on a D connector.
I don't know its name or number, but it has been used by countless
manufacturers of computing equipment.

Normal practice: when it fits, it works. Or at least as far as the
signal directions are considered.

When you introduce a gender changer: it does not normally work. When
the gender is incorrect, a null-modem needs to be inserted.

A few manufacturers have produced terminals with female connectors,
but IBM did not make this error on their PC line, so the clone manufactures
didn't either.

Subject: Soundcard RTTY (TrueTTY) Program & Soundcard Probs ???

I've got a Ten Tec RX-320 PC based SW receiver that delivers its audio
to the line-in on my sound card and it works great. I downloaded
TrueTTY ( a RTTY/PSK31) program that takes the audio from the line in
and decodes it on the screen. It doesn't appear that I'm getting any
audio feed. There's mention in the program help file that the sound
card should support 'Mono 16 bits 11025 Hz' Mode. I suspect it's the
sound card on the backup system here (Zoltrix 3D) but wonder if anyone
else has had any experience with the program and if so what soundcard
was used ?

Regards

Gary

Subject: WinCE APRS???

You are not imagining things, however WinCE APRS is not out yet. It was
supposed to be out a few months ago, but the author keeps setting back the
intro date. Other confusion could have been caused by the introduction of
Pocket APRS, which is really Palm APRS.

For more info on the WinCE APRS see: http://www.radiohound.com/aprsce.htm
