Gang,
Can you provide me starter web-links or a name or e-mail
address of an experienced packet radio buff in Alaska? I'm totally
new to packet radio but not to computers or Alaska. I have a need to
exchange e-mail and possibly internet traffic via packet radio and
need direction from someone who is aware of local packet network
setups and how I should best get started.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide me,
Brian Metras

For TCP/IP (internet) via packet radio, you'll need an IP address. THe list
of
coordinators (for which you'll have to find the one for your state) is in the
ftp://ftp.ucsd.edu/hamradio directory (look for a filename like
"amprcoord.txt"
or something similar). The same coordinator might be able to steer you to
other local information for your area.
