OTOH, SCS has trouble keeping their PII modems in stock. The word is
getting out. PACTOR II is really worth the money.

Subject: Pactor and FT-847 and PK-232?
You may have some of the parameters set wierd on the 232. Some of the
default settings are sub-optimal. It may not have mattered for AFSK
but it may matter for FSK. Check your parameter settings methodically
with the manual -- it sounds like you may have one set screwy.

You might want to chec the following items...
1. Make sure that you are set up for PTT operation.
VOX and ARQ modes do not mix. I doubt that
this is the problem but have to ask....
2. Make sure that the AGC on the radio is set to FAST.
In SLOW you are guaranteed problems.
3. Check the PK232 settings for PACTOR. There
are several delay settings that may have to
be adjusted for the new radio. Consult
the PK232 users guide for the exact comments.
