Subject: KPC2 and AX.25 Protocol
My buddy has a used KPC2 that he is putting into operation and we seem
to have found a flaw in that it sends no "poll" out on the connect
request. On my BayCom (v1.5) it looks like SABM where normally I see
SABM,P when somebody connects to me. On a normal monitor I think this
would be <C> vs <C C P> ...incidentally I was running WinTNC for a while
and it sent out its first connect request (per the monitor) as <C> and
all subsequent as <C C P>. Not sure what all this means but I was also
not able to connect to a local node through the node he has activiated
in the KPC2. But I was not able to connect direct either though I
usually can so it may have been off the air.
A node a long way off hears the KPC2 and responds in the affirmative to
its poll-less connect request just fine, though.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Birken

Actually, the program is called OH2GI's HAM System. The file name is
JUKARTTY.ZIP. Like WF1B, it is a DOS RTTY contesting program.
The current version for OH2GI's HAM SYSTEM is 6.4b.
The program not only supports KAM's host mode for using both the HF and VHF
ports BUT ALSO supports some of the AEA multimode controllers having dual
ports!
Here is a list of supported TNC's:
Kantronics KAM V5.0 and up in HOST mode
Kantronics KAM below V5.0 in terminal mode
AEA PK- 232MBX
AEA PK-900 in dual-port mode
AEA DSP-2232 in dual-port mode
AEA DSP-232
MFJ-1278
SCS PTC-II
DSP-Sound Card modems RITTY and BITTY by K6STI
Beta version of BTL-TSR
The system allows simultaneous operation of up to two HF radios and one VHF
radio in a Two-TNC configuration provided one TNC is a KAM in Host mode or
AEA PK-900 or AEA DSP-2232 in Dual-port mode.
The system allows simultaneous operation of up to two HF radios or one HF
radio and one VHF radio in a Two-TNC configuration.
Single TNC is supported for HF and/or VHF.
You can obtain OH2GI Ham System (sometimes called JUKARTTY) at

Anyone out there have an APRS set-up using the Palm IIIx or Palm V? I'd
like to set one up (hardware & software) for my mobile station. I
appreciate any info or sound advice.
