Well, my friend has a working 88 and neither of my chips work in his...
And his works in mine, so I'm placing my bets on the bad chips...
other than those problems, i love this TNC. :)

I've got a NEC Versa 2406 laptop. It's got sound built in. Can it run
the psk31 software?
THanks,

My next project after recovering from the flu is to get PACTOR II running.

I agree that 300 baud HF packet is very poor. Very slow, many retries and
poor throughput.
The new digital mode Q15X25 is an ideal replacement for HF 300 baud packet.
Q15X25 uses 15 tones, has higher throughput and has a narrow bandwidth. It
also appears very robust.
So far, you can only run Q15X25 on an EVM DSP unit. Maybe one day someone
will port it to work under windows with a sound card. Or maybe some of the
commercial TNC's manufacturers will include it in their firmware.
We can only hope!
You can find details on Q15X25 on KC7WW web site.
