There would appear to be more people using PACTOR II than CLOVER. (A lot of
the winlink stations use Pactor II)

Also, many people say that PACTOR II is a better, more robust mode than
CLOVER.

I have a SCS PTC II -- PACTOR II is by far the best mode I have ever used.
It is better than my KAM's GTOR by a long shot!

(But I have never tried CLOVER)

Subject: Computer RF noise in HF SSB

Since your description seems to be power-supply related, can you
arrange a method to power the laptop from a DC source ?? Even if
the external "wall-wart/desk-wart" may have an AC output
(Mine is 15 vac), if you can get your hands on the tech manual
for your computer, you may find that there is an in-built rectifier
for the AC from the desk-wart.

I run mine right off of 13.8 volts DC and that cleared 95% of the QRN.
All that is left is radiation from the LCD screen, but if I dont hold
my hand next to it, the rfi will be lower ..

anyway, just a thought..

be sure to verify if external DC will be acceptable with YOUR computer
before trying this method.. !!

TNOS is no longer supported or being developed.

I still see that TNOS has a web site. But perhaps the development is dead!

But my question still remains -- what do you think is better -- JNOS or
TNOS?? Which has more features?? Which is more reliable?? etc
