Check the voltage going to the Kam. I have a Kam plus and had the same
trouble until I discovered that the voltage was on the high side.
Getting the voltage to the low end of the scale, the problem went away.

Anybody know where to find the "LOGGER" program. A web search
turned up too many entries to be able to find it.

Subject: Which Sound Card?

I am looking for a sound card for my new PC. The PC came with a “Yamahaö
chip sound card. Some of my very old software will not work with this
card. It seems that the creative Sound Blaster line is an industry
standard that all software companies support. So I’m thinking of picking
up a Sound Blaster brand card. Super – Duper sound coming out of my PC
is of no importance to me and I want to spend only a minimum $ for this
card. I also know that I want to use a PCI slot for the card and not an
ISA slot.

I want to get involved with PSK-31, SSTV and Audio Spectrum analyzer
software. These need some specified performance from the sound card. I
think I’ve heard that the card has to be at least 16 bit which I would
guess means that it samples incoming audio as a 16 bit word. I have no
idea what “voicesö are (16,32,64,128,512) but I have a hunch that I
don’t need many.

So here’s the question – which Sound Blaster sound card should I be
looking for?

Thanks … Jeff – KA9S
