I've had a slight change around with the PCs here at PZT Towers.

The Duron 1.2GHz now resides in my room upstairs, whilst the Athlon 1700xp
now runs in the Shack 24/7. Over the last 2 days I've noticed that the
CPU temp of the 1700xp runs at a steady 51'C - I'm using a CoolerMaster
Delta HeatPipe cooler+fan which is amazingly quiet, all I'm hearing are
the 2 blasted HDs!

That aside, I've read reports of of some Athlon xp chips running to over
60'C and that's without any over-clocking... Would any Athlon "xp" users
care to share their findings ?

The Athlon 1700xp has 1GB RAM, 20GB + 80GB HDs, Windows 2000 and runs
Sally PMS, UI-View, AGW, ZoneAlarm, MailWasher, Outlook Express v6
around the clock, and is built into a unit with an extractor fan
in the wall which removes all the warm-air from the PC cupboard + radio
shelf and out into the open.

As for HDs, it appears that the Seagate Barracuda is the choice for
quiet hard-drives (according to www.endpcnoise.com). Available in the USA
for 147 Dollars, and about 128 Pounds over in the UK.

Right, there are my thoughts - Now it's YOUR turn.
