Hi gary sorry to hear of youre problem but a few points.

you dident say how many times you tryed entering a code
the code unlock method can require up to 4 differant
codes

1 lock to sim
2 lock to network
3 lock to provider
4 master lock

depending on how youre handset was locked in the first place
you would require a combination of these.

you need the master unlock code to enable the others.

i have used the online services a number of times and
receved the correct codes every time
im not saying you wernt scammed but there may have been another
error.
its a pity the site you used dident answer youre email
however most of them are fully automated and receve hundreds
of hits a day and youres was probably (lost in the noise)

youre friends cable method which ive also used
bypasses the retry limit and also allows the user
to read all the lock codes at the same time
and choose the correct ones to change.

and 7 to 10 gbp is the going rate for the service
when done privately.

the networks either refuse to provide or charge upwards
of 30 gbp for the code.

so you pays youre money etc..
