What with me being obsessed with all things Oz, vintage radio and
t'internet, I happened across a website "Nostalgia Down Under,
by Glenn Sprigg who lives in Adelaide, South-Australia.
Glenn's interests include Photography, Electronics,
the Aussie OutBack, and vintage radio/valve equipment.
He says "I would like to do my bit for this country in preserving a record
of history/artifacts so that the next generations will know how it all
started".
He continues: "I also doubt if there are vintage valve enthusiasts who
don't feel that this 'GlassWare' is like semi-transparent works of ART,
that actually does something too!"
It'a not a very big site - still under construction, and I've no idea when
it was last updated - (Gelnn says he's had a spell of ill health so let's
hope he's over that), but it's worth a look and has some useful links, and
zipped files of vintage radio and amateur radio magazine articles
http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Hall/1359/index.htm
Hope it's of interest.
Quote of the day:
"Things they wished they hadn't said"
"You must remember that the Austrlaian voter has
a short memory...less than 14 days in most cases".
John Howard - then Prime Minister replying to a reporter who asked what
reaction the government expected to its introduction of sales tax, 1999.
Gurgle.
Best wishes
