Hi David and other readers.
The "sorry" speech by the new Australian PM was of note for reasons other
than the sorry message. As far as I am aware that speech was the deathnell
of democracy in Australia in that no discussion was allowed in Parliament
until after the decision had been taken and the speech had been made
public. A sorry day indeed.
